From reading to living
Try this during any week of study, on your own or with someone else. Bring your scriptures and a notebook, and begin with the official lesson.
Read the verses around your chosen passage. Identify who is speaking, who is listening, and what question or situation the passage addresses. Write down what the text says before deciding what it means for you.
Choose a phrase that draws your attention. Follow a footnote or the lesson’s cross-reference. Compare the passages carefully, and leave room for a question you cannot yet answer.
Invite each person to share one observation without pressure to give the same answer. Choose a specific act of kindness, a prayer, or a conversation to follow your study. Return later and record what you noticed.
A gentle weekly rhythm
Use the whole pattern or choose one step. The purpose is not to finish a checklist. It is to hear the Lord and follow Him.
Read the lesson introduction. Write one question you are carrying.
Read the opening portion. Mark repeated names, promises, warnings, and invitations.

Before reading, name the help you hope to receive. Afterward, write one thing the passage teaches about Jesus Christ and one question you would like to keep studying. Let an unanswered question remain part of tomorrow’s prayer.
Return to a phrase that drew your attention. Read the surrounding verses and record the thought or invitation you want to remember. If studying with others, invite each person to share or simply listen; a quiet response is welcome too.
Consider how the passage could shape an ordinary moment today: your patience, an apology, a generous act, or time with someone who needs care. Choose one response you can carry out, then return to your notes later and reflect on what you learned.
